Course description:
The award qualification is an introduction to the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment. It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part-time support staff may fulfil including: administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as roles that work directly with children and young people in the learning environment. The award shares mandatory units with the certificate Level, providing a direct link and completion for six of the mandatory units the certificate. Some knowledge of development in the early years has also been included in the specification to enhance learners understanding.
Who is the course suitable for?
The qualification is aimed at a range of learners who are thinking of working in a school or college setting, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs, or where English is an additional language.
Entry requirements:
You do not need to have any formal qualifications in order to follow this course, but you will need to demonstrate commitment and motivation to work through the specially prepared distance-learning materials. The learner must live in England and be over 19 years of age.
How is the course delivered?
Candidates work through an online platform, so there is no need to attend the college to gain the qualification. The learning materials contain knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course and you can also gain further knowledge through research of the unit. Assessments are based on knowledge learned on the programme. Learners should complete the course within 8 weeks.
