Course description:
The course will focus on the study of possible causes of violence in the workplace and how to reduce the risk of workplace violence and harassment. You will gain an understanding of how organisational policies and procedures can contribute to a safe working environment. Learners will also be provided with an understanding of why violence may occur, the possible causes and how the risk of workplace violence can be reduced.

This course is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of workplace violence and harassment across any sector.
Entry requirements:
You do not need to have any formal qualifications in order to follow this course, but you will need to demonstrate commitment and motivation to work through the specially prepared distance-learning materials.
How is the course delivered?
Candidates work through the course materials for the programme at times convenient to them, so there is no need to attend the college to gain the qualification. The learning materials contain the knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course and activities to allow candidates to practice their skills and test their learning. Assessments are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and work-based activities and experience. Learners should aim to complete the course within 12 weeks.
Course content:
The course will cover the following areas and consists of two modules:
- Workbook 1: Violence in the workplace and contributing to a positive and safe working environment.
- Workbook 2: Understanding aggression, bullying and harassment and equality, diversity and inclusion.
Progression opportunities:
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to a Certificate or Diploma in Customer Service and Skills for Business.
